Lumix FS30 Review

Silver Lumix FS30 Digital CameraSilver Lumix FS30 Digital CameraThe Lumix FS30 is one of the cheapest in the digital camera range and has a lot of mega pixels to brag about for its extortionately cheap price. An 8 x optical zoom also comes packed in this compact camera but its possible to get more zoom at sacrifice of mega pixels.  It currently comes in at around £131 in most retail stores but can be found cheaper if you look around.

Pictures

Shooting outdoors with the Lumix FS30 is no problem and even in poor light the pictures are still crisp and clear. The sharpness of the photo is also exceptional quality for a small portable camera. Focusing options also make the photos look sharp even on the edges.

Shots still remain sharp when the lens is fully zoomed and do well in comparison to other travel cameras. Some small details is lost but not enough to really notice especially when the mega pixels are high in the first place.

While the camera has crammed many pixels into its lens it image quality is respectable when it comes to low light or areas of shade. The image still shows vivid colours and handles contrasts extremely well.

Features

The Lumix FS30 has a ‘wide’ angle lens. The industry has stated its on par with entry level dSLR lenses. It has an 8 x optical zoom and according to experts reaches telephoto lengths at 224mm. However, having this extra zoom can make it difficult to use in low light but works pretty well under normal conditions.

Shutter speed on this camera is also impressive, the 9 point focus system when locked in ensures that taking an image is a relaxed and easy process.

Browsing through the menus with the Lumix FS30 also couldn’t be easier as there is a quick button menu which swiftly gets you to the important tools. This means you spend less time wading through the menus but actually going where you want to go with speed.

Noise, Colours and Macro

Clarity of the Lumix FS30 Digital Camera close up shots are compelling. The quality is on par with rivals in this category but the pictures are more vivid.

Colours seem stronger and clearer in this version compared to rivals and means people who take a liking  to fine detail will appreciate the strength and boldness of the image. Even though the extra colours might just be of personal taste it still adds to the picture quality and makes the viewing that more pleasurable.

There are no major issues when it comes to noise on this camera. Noise can only be seen in low light areas or locations of shade this is to be expected.

Conclusion

The cheap price is not to be overlooked on the Lumix FS30 as it provides crisp clear photos and sharp results. Its on par with the industry standards and provides high resolution and optical zoom images with little problem. This camera is worth more than its pricing, so grab yourself a bargain before the prices go up.
